PIANO/KEYBOARD/THEORY/COMPOSITION

Millie is an MTNA Nationally Certified Teacher of Music. Has maintained an independent piano studio in Reading, PA, for over 20 years teaching all levels and ages. Received a B.A. in Piano Performance from Lebanon Valley College and a Masters in Piano Pedagogy from West Chester University.  Has served in various leadership capacities for the Reading Music Teachers Association and is now in her third term as President.  Served as MTNA National Local Association Chair from 1999-2001; MTNA Eastern Division President from 2004-2006; and President of Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association from 2005-2007. Two time recipient of the PMTA Service Award.  Published with FJH Publishers, a supplier of pedagogical music. Serves on the Reading Musical Foundation Scholarship Committee.  Active as a soloist, adjudicator, clinician, collaborative pianist throughout the tri-state area. 


SAXOPHONE, FLUTE, CLARINET, JAZZ IMPROV

Mike is a saxophonist and music educator from Berks County. Holds a B.S. in Music Education from Lebanon Valley College in 1976.  Graduate work done through Villa Nova and West Chester Universities. Retired after 23 years at Muhlenberg School District, where he taught middle school general music, and directed the middle school concert band and jazz band, and one of two high school jazz bands. Spent two years as jazz coordinator for the Music Educators of Berks County (MEBC), and served three terms as President. In November of 2006, with the cooperation of the Reading Music Foundation and Zeswitz Music, began hosting the Jazz Jam at Zeswitz Music which features professional musicians and educators from Berks County and beyond, performing with and giving advice to budding jazz artists.  Plays saxophone in several bands, including the rock bands  Been There/Done That from West Chester, The “Fabulous” Peptones from Philadelphia, the Dave Stahl Sacred Orchestra and the Dave Stahl Big Band.  In addition, Mike fronts his own jazz group, From the Hip.  He has also performed with several other area jazz groups, including The Last Big Band and Hesse’s Nasty Nine, as well as many area rock bands.


Together, Mike and Millie perform for area churches as a piano/sax duo.
